Review Score Card

Have you ever read a review that was the complete opposite of what you were expecting it to be and were never given any real reason as to why? Well, I am sure that most of us, if not all of us, have been there. I created this score card for a friend of mine’s blog, and I adapted it to work for this blog.

Our scoring system is on a simple 1 to 5 scale; 1 being the worst, 5 being the best. It is a pretty straight forward system that looks like this:

  1. Awful These are the games that are so bad to play it literally would be more fun to just leave the room.
  2. Disappointing Games that receive this score are those games that you will actually finish, but only because you started it.
  3. Okay It is all in the title. These are the middle of the road games, they have numerous things wrong with them that need improving, but they have something that makes them rise out of the disappointing ranks.
  4. Captivating This group of games will prove that things that have imperfections can indeed be good. Despite their imperfections, these games still have something (whether that be game play, story line, etc.) that keeps you captivated throughout its entirety.
  5. Wonderful Games that get this score is because they have so few things wrong with them, or the imperfections are just so minuscule, that the sheer awesomeness of the game itself is overwhelming.

I hope this guide helps those out there reading our reviews better understand how we score them.
