Updates To The Site

I did some reorganizing of the front page of the site. I added the content from the D&D and LOTRLCG resources pages to the widget bar to the right (>) or below for mobile viewers/ screen reader viewers. I did this so information will be easier to find no matter the post you enter the website at.

Just Me Being Racist

We are officially down to 2 races left from the Player’s Handbook: Gnomes and Half-Orcs. This week we are going to be looking at gnomes! The other little people. Gnomes in Dungeons and Dragons lore are a bit different then the ones I was used to prior to playing D&D. The gnomes I knew of were evil, or maybe just rude and mean.. either way they were not like the ones in D&D.

Play-Through Party

This week we are going to be delving into the cleric. The main healing class in Dungeons and Dragons. These are basically the army doctors of the D&D world. They run out onto the field trying to save those who are dying and healing the hurt along the way. Do not fret though if someone crosses paths with one of these guys, they are more than capable at defending themselves and their allies.

Tavern Post 9/9/15 *Update* NEW RANGER CLASS!

So, we were going to go over the wizard class this week. This is onne of my most loved and favorite classes that I have ever played in Dungeons and Dragons. Well… scrap that idea. I just checked out the new Unearthed Arcana for the month. In it this week Wizards of the Coast just released an update for the ranger class. This update is supposed to make the class much more unique to play style and give it more of a Strider feel than just some guy who fires arrows or dual wields weapons (hmmm… Legolas?). This is one of the iconic classes that has been around throughout all of Dungeons and Dragons life, and I for one cannot wait to see how this update effects the new class! 😀

Any one who wants to read up on the specific changes ahead of the class over view I will do later this week can find the pdf here from Wizards.

The Tavern Post 9/9/15

Good day my patrons! This is my last week before I go back to school to start my Master’s degree. So… with that in mind, there may be a decline in the amount of posts during the weeks to come until winter. However, this week I would like to go out with a bang! So I will be doing some extra posts this week.

Just Me Being Racist

This week we will be looking at the only good elves in the world (in my opinion), half-elves. These guys are half human half elf, get all the great things from being an elf, but minus the whole being a freaking elf thing. Stat bonus wise this is my favorite race, as you will see Friday!

Play-Through Party

This week we will be having 2 Play-Through Parties! To start us off will be continuing our look into Dungeons and Dragons classes. This week we will be looking at the wizard. This as the original class I ever first played when I started Dungeons and Dragons back in 3.5 so this has a special place in my memory. Needless to say, I am looking forward to this one! This will be either Friday or Saturday.

For our second one this week we will be starting up our Lord of the Rings: Living Card Game series. We will be doing the third quest out of the core set. This is by far one of the most difficult quests in this game. I have not gotten to play the newest cycle yet, so there may be a harder one in that cycle. But as for the first few cycles, this is the hardest. For this quest we will be adding an extra deck into the fray. We will do this one like normal on Sunday.

Of course, along with each of these will be their accompanying preparation posts. Keep an eye out for them as the week goes on!

Tavern Post 9-2-15

Hello patrons! This week I have been busy getting things ready. This is going to be another Dungeons and Dragons heavy week. For those of you waiting for the LOTR Play-Through Party to pick back up, we are trying to get a third player for the next quest. They were wanting to learn to play, and I figured why not the meanest quest in the first few cycles? lol.

Dungeons and Dragons (and Guns)

I have finally updated the D&D Resources Page to have my Dungeons and Dragons (and Guns) files I am working on on there. I have weapons, armor, and basic rules/theme down. I have some basic races and classes that we are going to be working with to see if they work well. Feel free to download them and check them out if you want. Looking for these?

Just Me Being Racist… Elves

This week we are going to be looking at most people’s favorite race in the game (or so it seems), Elves. We are going to look at their bonuses, proficiencies, sub races, etc. just like we have with all races in the past.

Play-Through Party

This week we are showcasing the Paladin class. I will be honest, this class is not a personal favorite of mine at all, so this will be the first one I have made since v3.5! So we will learn about them together for the 5e version. 🙂

Tavern Post 8/26/15

Good day my patrons! This week we are going to be waist deep in Dungeons and Dragons like the last few. I am also going to go back and do a touch up on the classes I covered in the Play-Though Party Preparation taking a look at the different paths for each class.

Just Me Being Racist

This week we are going to be looking at the Dwarf. Those belligerent little folk that work with the stone.

Play-Through Party

This will be our third installment for the Dungeons and Dragons Play-Through Party. This week we are going to look at the Warlock! We will have a short tutorial, like last week, that will give you information about the warlock.

Making Our Warlock

Prior to the Play-Through Party we are going to go through the process of making our warlock for it. We will look at their stats they get, features, items, backgrounds and races that work well with it, and then finally the, most likely, weird version I will make.

The Tavern Post 8/19/15

Good day my patrons! This week, like last week will be heavy Dungeons and Dragons. All of our posts this week will be about Dungeons and Dragons. If you are interested in Dungeons and Dragons keep an eye out.

Just Me Being Racist…

This week for Just Me Being Racist, we are going to look at Tieflings. We are going to look at the history of the “infernal race.” They are a proud race and despite their infernal heritage they should get a chance too.

Play-Through Party

This will be our second installment for the Dungeons and Dragons Play-Through Party. This week we are going to look at the Rogue! We will have a short tutorial, like last week, that will give you information about the rogue.

Making Our Rogue

Prior to the Play-Through Party we are going to go through the process of making our Rogue for it. We will look at their stats they get, features, items, backgrounds and races that work well with, and then finally the, most likely, weird version I will make. (Like my Half-Orc Bard)

The Tavern Post 8/11/15

Hello patrons! This week will be heavy with Dungeons and Dragons! We will have at least three posts coming up this week that will be just about our favorite table top rpg. We will also have a review of a game coming up soon as well.

Just Me Being Racist..

This week for just me being racist, we are going to take an in-depth look at halflings. We will discuss the proud little folk who are often looked down upon in other lore, but from what we know of halflings, or hobbits, such as Bilbo and Frodo, they are not to be underestimated. They can sneak up on you before you even notice they are there.

Play-Through Party

This week will be our first Dungeons and Dragons Play Through Party. This week we will be featuring the Bard. We will take a bard character and run them through a few different scenarios to show how they work.

Making our Bard

Prior to that we will go through the process of making our Bard. This is the post that will go in-depth about the class itself, explaining their spells, class features, etc.

Keep an eye out on the board for news as we roll things out this week!

As you were good folk, back to your drinks!
